Our stunning first lady Melania Trump was again in the headlines after Vanity Fair published an article saying she had no desire of being the first lady of the United States whatsoever.
Vanity Fair cited a “family friend” source stating Melania, “the most enigmatic First Lady,” was not prepared for her husband to become the president.
“This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something [Donald Trump] ever thought he’d win,” the source claimed. “She didn’t want this come hell or high water.”
“I don’t think she thought it was going to happen.”
Anyhow, President Trump defended his lovely wife Tuesday, writing on Twitter his thoughts on the matter.
Melania, our great and very hard working First Lady, who truly loves what she is doing, always thought that “if you run, you will win.” She would tell everyone that, “no doubt, he will win.” I also felt I would win (or I would not have run) – and Country is doing great!
Both President Trump and Roger Stone, an initial adviser to the president, noted that Melania was the one who helped him make the final decision to run for president.
“She was very clearly the one who said, ‘Either run or don’t run,’” Stone told Vanity Fair, saying she said, “‘Your friends are tired of the striptease. Every four years you talk about it.’”
Stephanie Grisham, a spokesperson for Melania, said the Vanity Fair story is full of “false assertions” by “unnamed sources.”
“As a magazine tailored to women it is shameful that they continue to write salacious and false stories meant to demean Mrs. Trump, rather than focus on her positive work as First Lady and as a supportive wife and mother,” Grisham stated.
Grisham added that Melania is “honored by her role,” and she has said that “on the record many times before.”
If we look at the videos and photos posted on Melania’s Twitter, it is clear that the supportive first lady is enjoying her new role.
Melania Trump embraced by Japanese students
First lady Melania Trump spent the early part of the morning on her second day in Japan being a dutiful dignitary spouse, accompanying President Donald Trump…
The mainstream media was criticizing Melania when Trump’s campaign started because she was a former model.
When Melania became the First Lady, she was under attacks for her fashion choices when visiting the Hurricane harmed communities, and for being more passive as the First Lady than her predecessors.
Back in 2000, during an interview with The New York Times, Melania said that if her husband ever becomes president she will be a “very traditional” first lady.
